THE SPRINTER ATLAS TRANSFER CASE
BY AGILE OFFROAD
Authorized professional installation at Adrenaline HQ
The Agile/Atlas transfer case conversion for the Mercedes Benz Sprinter, developed by Agile Offroad with help from Advance Adapters, is renowned for its exceptional durability and performance in off-road applications.
Its gear-driven design eliminates the weaknesses associated with the chain-driven systems of the OE Mercedes transfer case, ensuring reliable power transmission and longevity. The Agile/Atlas transfer case is constructed with a robust aluminum housing, providing a lightweight yet strong enclosure capable of withstanding the rigors of off-road use.
End Use Applications:
For Mercedes-Benz Sprinter owners seeking to enhance their vehicle's off-road capabilities, the Atlas transfer case offers a significant upgrade. Agile Offroad has partnered with Advance Adapters to adapt the Atlas transfer case specifically for 4WD Sprinters equipped with ARB Air Lockers (link to air locker landing page) and 4.18 gears. This modification delivers true 4WD functionality, distributing power evenly between the front and rear axles (50:50), thereby improving traction and control on challenging terrains. Incorporating the Atlas transfer case into your Sprinter provides owners with a durable and reliable solution for off-road adventures.
Technical Benefits of the Agile/Atlas Transfer Case
1. True 50:50 four-wheel drive. The stock Mercedes Sprinter transfer case splits the power delivery at 70:30 with only 30% of the total power available to the front axle. With the Atlas installed not only do you have the full 50% available to both axles, you also have the option to select each axle independently in the event that you want to only drive the front or rear (front or rear “dig”) for specific off road maneuvers, something previously impossible with the stock configuration of the Mercedes Sprinter chassis.
2. Full functionality retention of all OEM safety systems and drivability. All Mercedes onboard safety systems, electronic aids and auto braking features are retained with the Atlas transfer case system installed. You won’t give up adaptive cruise control, Active Brake Assist, Parktronic systems or any other Mercedes Benz built in comfort or safety systems.
3. Fully serviceable heavy-duty driveline upgrade. With every Agile/Atlas transfer case installation we also upgrade the entire rear driveline from the transfer case all the way to the rear axle. What is normally a completely non-serviceable item from Mercedes in either a two- or three-piece configuration depending on the wheelbase is now a fully serviceable, heavy-duty unit with readily available off the shelf components, so you no longer must purchase an entire driveline assembly to replace a single worn u-joint.
